The Department of Management in Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applicants for the Director of the PhD for Executives program. The position will begin in Fall 2019 at the OSU-Stillwater location. The position is “open rank” and we will consider candidates who apply as an Assistant or Associate Professor or as an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice.
The PhD for Executives program is a unique, cohort-based program designed for working professionals. The Director will oversee all aspects of the program from recruitment of the students to degree conferral. The Director will also oversee the effective management and administration of the program including marketing, budgeting and assisting in all aspects relating to curriculum and staffing. The position offers an initial contract for three years and requires teaching two courses per year for the Department of Management. All candidates must start with and maintain qualifications for AACSB accreditation in management. That includes conducting scholarly research, attending professional conferences and workshops, serving on committees, managing service learning projects, etc. Research and travel support will be provided where necessary. The initial appointment for three years can be renewed and is contingent on funding.
Qualifications: Candidates should hold a terminal degree in business or an associated field. To be considered for a tenure track position (Assistant or Associate Professor), the candidate would need to satisfy the department’s teaching and rigorous research requirements to be considered for promotion and tenure. Candidates who apply for the Assistant Professor of Professional Practice (APOPP) will not be eligible for tenure. APOPP candidates should demonstrate teaching excellence, appropriate research success and maintain academic credentials. All candidates must be academically qualified upon the start date and must maintain qualifications for reappointment. The successful candidate will be able to work in a collegial environment.
