The Department of Management in the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applicants for a full-time non-tenure track (NTT position) in the areas of organizational consulting and student professional development. The minimum requirement is evidence of a master’s degree in business or a related area by the start date of August 19, 2019. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching organizational consulting, as well as 5-10 years of work experience (e.g., entrepreneur and/or corporate experience), and strong interest or background in developing students’ professional competencies. We seek applicants with these skills: ability to engage corporate partners to solicit student consulting projects, ability to teach students in both large and small section formats and in both face-to-face and hybrid online formats, familiarity with learning management systems for grade management and reporting, ability to coordinate external speakers, and collegiality in service roles involving curriculum design, integration, and evaluation.
The successful candidate will be able to teach the college’s MBA-level consulting courses, and will support the MBA and executive MBA programs by coordinating required professional development courses. This will involve planning and developing a curriculum focusing on key professional competencies, delivering some of the curriculum, and coordinating college and external resources (e.g., guest speakers) to deliver curriculum. Activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Interact with business community and corporate partners to identify potential student consulting projects • Teach consulting skills and processes, and coordinate and supervise student consulting projects, ensuring high-quality project delivery to clients • Cooperate with faculty and graduate programs staff to create and develop the required professional development courses for the in residence Crosby MBA program and hybrid on-line executive MBA program • Coordinate execution of both professional development curricula, and identify possible overlap or joint programs
The Trulaske College of Business consists of approximately 65 full-time faculty members who serve approximately 5,000 undergraduates, 285 master’s students, and 35 doctoral students. The Department of Management consists of 11 tenure-track faculty members and 9 full-time teaching faculty who share a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
