The Graduate School of Business and Public Policy at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Organizations and Management. The Management group is a congenial team that looks forward to welcoming a new colleague. Interests of current faculty include small group dynamics, networks and social processes, behavioral strategy, and the effects of emerging communication technologies.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in teaching ethical leadership and organizational behavior, as well as ability to conduct research on topics relevant to leadership and the U.S. Dept. of Defense. Interest in military organizations or applying organizational and leadership perspectives to national security issues is plus. Our school’s relationship with the US Navy provides extensive opportunities to conduct leadership research in the Navy and broader Department of Defense. The candidate must have a terminal degree or be within six months of completion. Rank is open. The level of faculty appointment and compensation will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
NPS specializes in providing 100% graduate education. Candidates for this position should display a willingness to teach both residential and web-based graduate courses. The school operates year-round on a quarter basis, with most tenure-track faculty teaching alternate quarters. Normal teaching load is 2-2 with opportunities for buy-outs. All classes are conducted during normal business hours. Research support is provided for the first 2 years.
NPS is a nationally recognized and unique institution within the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). It is located on the coast in Monterey, California, about 140 miles south of San Francisco.
