Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar seeks applicants for a teaching track position in Management/Strategy/International Management beginning in Fall Semester, 2020. This is a career-oriented appointment with primary responsibility for teaching and contributions to the educational mission of the undergraduate Business Administration program in Doha, Qatar. The position also provides support for the pursuit of research interests. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in a management-related field at the time of appointment, outstanding teaching skills, and a passion for student and community engagement.
Carnegie Mellon’s undergraduate Business Administration program has earned global recognition for its approach to the study of business management as a science. The program emphasizes a quantitative, analytical approach, training students in the foundations of business. We seek an engaging colleague, passionate about teaching, whose primary responsibility will be to deliver undergraduate courses in management, international management and/or strategy. In addition to teaching rigorous core requirements, the right candidate could deliver depth in the Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness Concentration and the International Business Concentration. The position may include the opportunity to develop new depth electives.
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is a branch campus that operates in concert with several other American and European branch campuses under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation’s Education City. The branch campus closely follows the admissions requirements and English language curriculum of the home campus, which awards all degrees. The several thousand students in Education City students are a broad mix of nationalities, but primarily from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. CMUQ’s faculty is a mix of professionals hired specifically to the campus and seconded faculty from the main campus. CMUQ’s primary focus is undergraduate education in Business Administration, Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Information Systems.
