Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in Management at the Assistant Professor level, beginning in the fall of 2020. Preference is for a candidate qualified in human resource management along with a secondary area, such as organizational behavior, managerial communications, international business, or strategic management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in traditional and online formats, as well as conduct scholarly research and engage in service activities, including providing leadership for student organizations.
A Management PhD or DBA is required, with very strong preference given to candidates having an earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited school; also required are a demonstrated ability for effective teaching, an established record of intellectual contributions or demonstrated potential for such contributions, and commitment to diversity and promoting inclusive excellence. (ABDs close to degree completion, and those with both an MBA and PhD degree substantially equivalent to Management may be considered). Evidence of strong instructional effectiveness is essential, as are strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience teaching online, business experience, and professional certifications are desirable.
