Angelo State University invites applications for the MBA Director in the Norris-Vincent College of Business. The successful candidate will also serve as a tenure track assistant professor of management in the Management and Marketing Department. Those candidates with significant prior service credit and a distinguished research record may be appointed with tenure at the rank of associate professor. This is a full-time, nine-month faculty position beginning in Spring 2020.
The MBA program in the Norris-Vincent College of Business is a rapidly growing program offering both face-to-face and online courses. In addition, the MBA can be completed with a specialization in healthcare management. Also, a post-baccalaureate healthcare management certificate is managed by the MBA Director.
The anticipated teaching load will be two courses in each long semester, as well as the summer. Summer teaching includes an additional stipend.
Effective teaching, service, and publication in peer-reviewed journals are required for tenure and promotion, consistent with the policies of the Norris-Vincent College of Business and Angelo State University. The successful candidate will teach courses in management, including strategy at the graduate and undergraduate levels in both face-to-face and online formats.
The business programs offered by the Norris-Vincent College of Business are accredited by ACBSP; however, Angelo State University is a member of AACSB and is making excellent progress in attaining initial business accreditation by AACSB.
As MBA Director, specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Manage program admissions, including recruitment, prospect communication and tracking, and corporate outreach • Develop, implement, and manage strategic marketing initiatives to achieve enrollment goals. Monitor marketing budget and optimize program resources. • Review applications for admission and make admissions recommendations to the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research • Work with department chairs to schedule MBA class offerings • Work with the Accreditation Manager in finalizing and implementing the MBA Assessment Plan • Develop and maintain all print and electronic program information, including updates to the Graduate Catalog • Maintain and report student achievement data for accreditation agencies and national rankings, as well as the annual program report • Ensure adjunct MBA instructors meet Norris-Vincent College of Business faculty qualification standards • Develop and maintain relationships with key University departments to ensure program success, such as College of Graduate Studies and Research, Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Registrar’s Office, and Office of Career Development
As a tenure-track assistant/associate professor, teach graduate and undergraduate courses in management, produce peer-reviewed intellectual contributions, especially journal articles, and participate in various service-related activities such as student advising, committee work, and engagement with the academic/business community.
Applicants should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and willing to deliver their courses in both traditional and online formats. Applicants should also be dedicated to helping ASU students succeed, particularly first-generation college students.
Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong organizational skills. Collegiality and the ability to collaborate with other business faculty in both research and service are also expected.
