Organization and Management Theory, Strategic Management, Technology and Innovation Management
The University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL seeks to fill a lecturer position in the Integrated Business (IB) department to start August 8, 2020. The assignment is non-tenure earning and includes a primary focus on teaching the newly developed Business Climate Analysis course. This course covers content related to the external environment of the firm (e.g. sociocultural trends, political and legal factors, etc.) and emphasizes strategic decision making and individual writing.
The IB program has adopted a flipped classroom approach in which face-to-face class time is used to actively engage students with course material and develop in them a range of soft skills. The program employs a lead faculty member structure in which the content and structure of each course is developed and maintained by the lead. Lecturers are expected to focus on high quality course delivery and substantive student engagement. Lecturers also provide input on development of common assignment and assessments and changes in course content and structure.
This is a nine-month, non-tenure earning position to start August 8, 2020 (fall semester). Additional optional summer appointments are typically offered each year. The normal teaching load is four classes each fall semester and four classes each spring semester with the possibility of course releases for qualified activities. The teaching assignment may include other courses in the undergraduate IB program and the IB track of the Master of Science in Management (MSM) program. While the primary assignment is at the UCF main campus, the selected candidate may be required to teach at an additional satellite campus in the Greater Orlando area each semester.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue into the fall. For full consideration, please submit your application no later than September 30, 2019.
