Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational behavior and leadership, maintaining an active research agenda in a related area and in support of quality teaching, participating in assurance of learning activities, mentoring upper division students, engaging actively in department, college, university, and professional service, and participating in business outreach activities.
Department and College Information:
The Management Program at Rowan University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, as well as Certificates of Undergraduate Studies in Business Analytics and Management & Leadership plus a Management Concentration in the MBA program. It is housed within the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, which also offers BS degrees and undergraduate minors in Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management and a Certificate of Undergraduate Studies in Training and Development. Several Management courses are required for all undergraduate business majors and for the MBA. The Rohrer College of Business, which is accredited by the International Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), had approximately 2,600 undergraduate and masters’ level students as of Spring 2019. The Rohrer College of Business subscribes to several platforms and data bases, including WRDS, CRSP, Audit Analytics, and Capital IQ, to support its research active faculty.
The management program is designed to provide a strong foundation in both traditional and innovative management skills in the areas of leading and supervising others, communicating clearly, and being able to analyze and solve organizational problems by integrating quantitative and qualitative information. It includes traditional classroom instruction, simulations, mandatory internships, and guest lectures by management practitioners. Management faculty advise our very active student chapter of the Society for Advancement of Management. We have a strong program of professional development for our students, welcome teaching innovations, and have strong ties to the regional professional community.
The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship is one of three academic departments within the Rohrer College of Business. Significant enrollment growth has been experienced in the major, as well as across the Rohrer College of Business and Rowan University. We expect continued strong enrollment at all levels. The Rohrer College of Business moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art building in January 2017. The college is committed to investing in research support tools for faculty, including new databases and travel support funding. Faculty publications in top-tier journals are on the increase and collaboration with colleagues is encouraged.

A Ph.D. in Management or a closely related field by August 31, 2020 is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven excellence as a teacher and potential for excellence as a researcher. One or more of the following are strongly preferred: A secondary teaching interest in the area of international business and/or strategy; teaching, research, and/or practical experience in the area of PRME/responsible leadership; experience teaching freshmen; and relevant industry experience.
