Open Rank - Professor of Commerce (Management Area)
The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for a full-time, open rank, tenure track faculty to teach core undergraduate and graduate classes in Strategic Management beginning August 2020.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in strategic management or closely related field in hand by the start date of the appointment. A commitment to teaching excellence and the potential for a strong record in research are required. Candidates must show evidence of an explicit commitment to diversity and of advancing understanding and outcomes for underrepresented groups. The ability to teach electives in global strategy, innovation and other strategy-related areas is highly valued. Preference will be given to candidates who possess research expertise and interests that contribute to McIntire’s collaborative research culture. Practical business experience is strongly preferred.
Currently, the McIntire School of Commerce (www.commerce.virginia.edu) awards a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, and Master of Science degrees in the Management of Information Technology, Business Analytics, Commerce, Accounting, and Global Commerce. McIntire is recognized for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate business education and scholarship. In various annual rankings of undergraduate and graduate business programs, including U.S. News, Bloomberg Businessweek, Poets & Quants, and The Economist, the McIntire School of Commerce is routinely ranked in the top ten.
