The Department of Management invites applications for the Free Enterprise Chair of Excellence in Management, effective Fall 2020, pending available funding. Rank is at the level of Full Professor, although advanced associates with appropriate research records are invited to apply. Candidates with a primary research interest in entrepreneurship with secondary interests in strategic management, international business, HR management, organizational behavior, diversity and inclusion, or organizational research methods will be given preference. Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting doctoral seminars, mentoring doctoral students and faculty, maintaining a strong research program, procuring external research funding, fulfilling professional and University service duties, and contributing to the expansion of entrepreneurship programs inside the college and with the community. The department has 18 full-time faculty members, including four new assistant professors starting Fall 2019, and over 500 management and international business majors. Applicants should have an earned doctorate in management or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. The successful candidate will have (a) an outstanding research record as demonstrated by publications in leading management journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, etc.; (b) a research program that addresses entrepreneurship and innovation broadly defined; (c) an interest in teaching doctoral seminars; (d) the capability to mentor doctoral students and faculty; (e) demonstrated experience in obtaining external research funding and the ability to provide leadership in obtaining external funding; (f) the desire and ability to build connections with the academic and business community; and (g) professional experience appropriate to this senior appointment.
