The Miller College of Business at Ball State University invites applications for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Management. The successful candidate will also teach nine hours during the academic year; conduct scholarly research; and perform service.
Minimum qualifications: PhD or DBA in Management or a closely related business discipline from an AACSB accredited graduate program. Minimum of five years of tenure-line faculty service and two years of administrative experience which includes, but is not limited to, course scheduling, faculty recruiting and mentoring, preparation of promotion and tenure documents, management of a department advisory board, service on college level committees, management of a departmental budget, curriculum management, and faculty performance assessment. Evidence of leadership and communication skills; evidence of effective team building skills.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: At least ten years of experience in a tenure-line academic position at an AACSB accredited institution and a minimum of three years of administrative experience in higher education or equivalent. Skills in short and long-range strategic planning; demonstrated skills in hiring, supervising, evaluating, and promoting faculty and staff; demonstrates commitment to diversity and fund raising.
