Position Description: SMSU's Assistant Professor of Management is a full-time, tenure track faculty position.
Teaching introductory and upper-division management courses in the undergraduate program along with courses in the MBA program.
Meeting the expectations of a full-time SMSU faculty member, as defined in the Minnesota State-IFO Agreement, which include engagement in: scholarly and creative activity, continuing preparation and study, contribution to student growth and development, and service to the SMSU community.
Participating fully in the activities and programs of SMSU's Business, Innovation and Strategy Department and of the Management Program.
Engaging in services to southwest Minnesota as part of SMSU’s commitment to the region.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates for SMSU's Assistant Professor of Management position are required to meet the following expectations:
Ph.D. in Management, Ph.D. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management, or DBA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. Consideration will be made for applicants who are expected to receive their Ph.D. or DBA within one semester of appointment.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence in the discipline and specialization associated with the position
Strong written and oral communication skills
Clear evidence of ongoing professional development

Demonstrated ability/competence in instructional technology and on campus/online/hybrid teaching methods
Professional work experience in management or entrepreneurship outside academia

*Nine Month Appointments- Along with all other Universities that are part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, standard faculty appointments are for 168 duty days distributed over any nine consecutive months. The nine months need not align with the traditional academic year and may be changed every two years.
