The School of Management Fribourg (HEG-FR) offers internationally recognized Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, as well cooperative PhD and well-established continuing education programs. While the HEG-FR covers all domains of management, entrepreneurship and innovation are our passion. Among other functions, we are the Swiss hub for the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM).
We maintain a close connection to practice, and a focus on research excellence. Our over 100 faculty members, many of them entrepreneurs, come from several countries, and our students attend courses in French, English or German. We are a member of the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and in the second stage of the accreditation process.
The successful candidate will engage in entrepreneurship-related teaching activities across the school’s Bachelor, Master and Executive programs. Particular emphasis is placed, however, on the applicant’s contribution in developing high-quality research, raising research funding and the drive to develop and lead a postgraduate program in their field of expertise. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the school's entrepreneurial dynamics, and to actively participate in international, national and regional and networking activities of the HEG-FR entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Profile and areas of expertise Candidates should hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) at the time of appointment (starting the earliest in September 2020) in Management, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior or related disciplines. They should either have an established international publication record in high-ranking academic journals (full professor) or demonstrate an outstanding publication potential (associate professor), with a particular preference for topics such as Social Impact, Sustainable Investment, Circular Economy or Business Ethics. Candidates must show evidence of their innovation in their pedagogical approaches, research, and practice, and be forward-thinking about the skills and literacies required to respond to complex global conditions and societal needs. The position requires a high level of fluency in both English and French or German.
