The Department of Management, with the support of The National Counterterrorism, Innovation, Technology, and Education (NCITE) Center at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), seeks faculty candidates for an Open-Rank, Tenure-track Faculty Position in Management. The anticipated start date is August 2021.  At the time of hire, candidates should have a Ph.D. in Management, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Sociology, Communications, MIS, or a closely related field, have a desire to teach forward-thinking Management courses in an innovative business school, and excel in applied and extramurally-funded research in the domain of Homeland Security. As this position is part of a cluster-hire initiative for our newly designated Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence in Terrorism Prevention and Counterterrorism Research, successful candidates will be expected to collaborate with other faculty across the University of Nebraska to develop extramurally funded proposals. This research stream, on behalf of the National Counterterrorism, Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE) at UNO, and specific areas of expertise include (but are not limited to) the future of work, diversity and inclusion organizational practices, leadership, social movements and networks, terrorist organizational structures, and/or mixed-initiative teaming. Although we have specified these areas, we are looking for talent and we are open to a variety of areas of expertise and other ways candidates may fit. 

We seek an individual dedicated to excellence in teaching and research programs; committed to the application of management or related fields to issues of interest to the Department of Homeland Security; and committed to promoting diversity and inclusion on our campus.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a research project on Homeland Security for the NCITE Center within their first year. They are also expected to establish and maintain a world-class extramurally-funded research program and productive collaborations with government and industry partners through the NCITE Center. Other duties include teaching forward-thinking Management courses in the College of Business Administration (CBA), mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and providing departmental, university, and professional service. In your research statement, please include a brief description (no more than two paragraphs) detailing specific aims for a research project you would submit for extramural funding from Homeland Security or a related national security agency that you would submit as part of your NCITE-focused research stream. Some candidates may also have research that supports the National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) toward Department of Defense extramural funding. If this is the case, please also include a statement of how work may serve a DoD audience as well.
