K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability ILR School Outreach/Extension Division
The position of Postdoctoral Associate within the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability (YTI) in the Extension/Outreach Division of the School of Industrial and Labor Relations is responsible for extension research activities.
The K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability is a research, extended education and technical assistance program of a national and regional scope that provides research, information and training on disability and the workplace.
This Postdoctoral Associate will work under the supervision of Professor Susanne Bruyère and will commence on January 1, 2021 for a 12-month appointment, with the possibility of renewal for another 12 months period (through December 31, 2022) based on available funding and work.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work closely with YTI principal investigators on workplace disability inclusion-related federally funded research projects executing on the following tasks: extensive in-depth literature reviews and related written summaries targeting topics relevant to the research; completion of human subjects review requests to the Cornell IRB; design of interview and focus groups protocols; analysis of qualitative data results from interviews and focus groups; survey design, data collection, and analysis; analysis of relevant secondary data; writing of reports, scholarly articles, grant applications, as well as research-to-practice briefs, and practitioner journal articles.
Applicant must have a doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Management or related
Preference for individuals have demonstrated interest and scholarly efforts on employment and disability-related fields, such as workplace disability inclusion policies and practices, employment disability discrimination, employment and disability policy, workplace disability accommodations, and other related
Ability to design and implementing mixed-methods approaches on related topics, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and analyzing secondary data
Ability to both work in teams, and independently write research papers, project reports, grant applications and research-to-practice articles is a key
This is a full-time academic position located in Ithaca, New York. During the COVID restrictions, this position will work remotely, until such time that the remote work restrictions are lifted based on University and unit guidelines.
This is a one-year appointment with possible extension for a second year, depending on available funding and work.
