Assistant Professor of Instruction/Executive in Residence, Business Law
The Ohio University Department of Management in the College of Business invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction/Executive in Residence in Business Law. This position is in-person on campus in beautiful Athens, Ohio. The appointment is set to begin August 16, 2021.
We are looking for student-centered, innovative faculty members who would be able to teach in Business Law, Ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ohio University’s College of Business is accredited by the AACSB. We offer a BBA with a range of majors, all of whom must complete a course titled Corporate Responsibility in a Legal Environment. We also offer a number of other courses in business law both as service courses and for students pursuing the Business Pre-Law major. Additionally, we have a range of graduate programs that have required coursework in Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. The Management Department has three affiliated Centers: the Center for Entrepreneurship; the Center for International Business Education & Development; and the Walter Center for Strategic Leadership.
Assistant Professors of Instruction typically have a seven-course (21 credit hours) teaching load per year. Non-tenure track faculty have a teaching load of 7 courses per year, with typical section sizes ranging from 40 to 70. For faculty that qualify as an Executive in Residence based on extensive industry experience, there may be opportunities for special projects or administrative activities that would reduce the workload to 6 courses per year.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from an ABA or equivalently accredited institution, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business from an AACSB or equivalently accredited institution. Practical experience in corporate law or similar business related legal experience is required for the Executive in Residence designation.
Compensation and Benefits
