The Niemi Center provides and supervises student opportunities in world-changing research at SMU and the George W. Bush Institute.
The Post Doctoral Fellow will assist students conducting their research and writing white papers and research papers from the data collected. They will also work on furthering their own research agenda toward completing journal publications.
This position aligns with the Universities goals of 1) enhancing the academic quality and stature of the University with published research, 2) Improving teaching and learning with interdisciplinary research 3) Strengthen scholarly research and creative achievement through interdisciplinary research; 4) Sustain student development and a supportive campus experiences, and 5) Broadening global perspectives through research.
Proactively design and implemen research studies related to organizational leadership.
Write and collaborate on study reports, scholarly papers, and conference presentations.
Work in The Niemi Center 10 hours per week assisting with administration and supervision of student research fellows.
Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in field related to organizational behavior is required. Must have defended dissertation before start date.
Some experience conducting research is also required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills to effectively work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must possess strong time management, organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks. Strong project management skills and a strong focus on attention to detail are essential.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate problems, as well as devise effective solutions. Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision and demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Candidate must have the ability to use at least one statistical software such as SPSS, MPlus, R, or SAS.
