Loyola University Chicago’s Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health and Dean Elaine Morrato seek a strategic leader and distinguished scholar to serve as the chair of the Department of Healthcare Administration.
The Department of Healthcare Administration is anchored by a strong core of faculty paving the way for the department’s future growth, building on a longstanding AUPHA-accredited undergraduate program and a newly launched MHA degree. The next chair will chart a bold course and strategy for the department’s future that encompasses a broad vision of the health system in order to prepare the next generation of healthcare administration leaders.
Healthcare Administration collaborate closely with interdisciplinary colleagues from across Loyola, including in the Graduate School and schools of Medicine, Nursing, Business, Law, and Environment and Sustainability; in the Institute for Translational Medicine (CTSA), Institute for Racial Justice, and Rule of Law Institute; and with community and health system partners. Together they catalyze the rapid translation of fundamental knowledge to practice to improve human health and reduce health disparities.
The Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, collaboration, and care for communities with a focus on understanding all social determinants of health. Research, scholarship, and curricula incorporate systems and design thinking, which translate to scalable, sustainable solutions. With an entrepreneurial approach and a commitment to its Jesuit Catholic mission, the Parkinson School expands knowledge and drives change in service of humanity through learning, justice, and faith.

The successful candidate must meet Loyola University of Chicago rank and tenure guidelines at the Associate Professor or Professor level. An earned doctoral degree is required, combined with significant experience in one or more related fields such as, but not limited to, healthcare organizational management, healthcare finance, and health information systems. The Parkinson School seeks candidates with significant demonstrable knowledge of applied principles in healthcare administration and teaching experience in a core domain of healthcare management.
