Professors Marissa King (Upenn) and Susan Busch (Yale) seek to hire a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to join a research team exploring the implications of private equity (PE) acquisitions of substance use disorder treatment facilities. This position will be housed within Wharton’s Health Care Management Department at the University of Pennsylvania.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will join an interdisciplinary research team working on a project funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse. The goal of the project is to understand how private equity acquisitions have changed organizational strategy, treatment quality, adverse events, and access to treatment. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of health care data.
This is a full-time position in Philadelphia, PA with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024, but this start date is flexible. Applicants should have a PhD or be close to completing a PhD in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to, Health Care Management, Sociology, Economics, Management, or Public Health
Candidates should have an interest in health care, organizations, and/or substance use disorder treatment
Strong quantitative skills and programming experience in R, STATA, or Python are required for this position
