Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Organization and Management at Aalto University
The Department of Management Studies at Aalto University School of Business invites applications for the position of Professor in Organization and Management. The position can be filled at any level of the Aalto tenure track system (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). The Department of Management Studies hosts four subjects: Organization and Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizational Communication. The department comprises several internationally renowned areas of expertise, including strategy, human resource management, organizational behavior, sustainability in business, and organization theory. Our faculty regularly publishes in the leading management journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Strategic Management Journal, and others. The department has a lively and international research community with numerous doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers.
We offer the candidate the opportunity to do research in a vibrant and active international community. There are also ample opportunities for conducting cross-disciplinary research across Aalto University and in close collaboration with the Finnish industry as well as in international research projects. The position comes with a competitive salary, a light teaching load, and a generous package of initial research funding.
Throughout their careers, those on the tenure track are expected to carry out and supervise research, to provide high-quality education, to follow the advances of their field, to contribute to service for the benefit of the Aalto University community, to take part in societal discussions as well as to collaborate internationally in their field.
The applicants should hold a doctorate in a discipline relevant to this position. The doctorate can be from diverse fields provided that the candidate’s research focus is organization and management. The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching, and activity in the scientific community relative to their career stage. In the absence of formal proof of quality in research and teaching (e.g. published papers, teaching ratings), applicants are encouraged to submit proof of significant potential for high-quality teaching and research.
Given our unit’s broad focus, we will consider applicants with expertise in organizational behavior, strategy, innovation, sustainability, human resource management, or other domains of organization and management.
Salary and benefits
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide salary requests. The position includes occupational healthcare.
